Cornwall All Stars Vs. Plymouth Outlaws D4 & D5

24th May 2026

Game Day Recap – Cornwall All Stars Vs. Plymouth Outlaws

A fantastic weekend of baseball saw the Plymouth Outlaws Division 4 and Division 5 teams take on two sides from the Kernow Baseball League in a historic first set of cross-league friendlies. The weather was scorching, but the bats and action on the diamond were even hotter.

Game 1 saw the Plymouth Outlaws D5 side face the KBL Wizards — a mixed squad made up of players from across the league looking to gain valuable game time and sharpen their skills.

The Outlaws were outstanding on the mound and in the field, limiting the Wizards to just 9 runs across 6 innings with a composed and confident defensive display. Starting battery Sam Klang and James Pollard laid the foundations before Nathan Joy took over and pitched with real intensity and control. Morgan Parkinson then stepped up to make his pitching debut, rounding off an impressive performance from all three pitchers, who mixed pace and command brilliantly throughout the game.

The bats were just as dangerous. Morgan Parkinson capped off a standout performance by blasting a little league home run — the first in Outlaws D5 history. Another huge highlight came courtesy of Joy and Pollard, who executed a textbook steal of home off a perfectly placed bunt play that caught the Wizards completely off guard.

It was a hugely important and deserved victory for the D5 Outlaws,

with every player contributing offensively and defensively

throughout the game.

Final Score: Plymouth Outlaws D5 24 - 9 KBL Wizards

Game 2 saw the Plymouth Outlaws D4 side take on the KBL Warlocks in another fiercely competitive matchup played under the blazing sun.Nathan Joy and James Pollard both made their D4 debuts, stepping up into right field and centre field respectively. The battery pairing of Matt Ball and Neil Edwards controlled the game superbly, showing composure, leadership and excellent command throughout.

Pollard announced himself in style with a triple in his very first D4 at-bat, but the defining storyline of the game belonged to Greg Staniforth. The big man at first base delivered an enormous performance in every aspect of the game. Stealing bases? Check. Driving contact at the plate? Check. Making decisive defensive outs? Absolutely. Greg’s relentless energy became infectious and helped drive the team through key moments while keeping spirits high in the dugout.

Platten narrowly missed a spectacular highlight play at shortstop when a scorching line drive clipped the end of his glove before being cleaned up brilliantly by youngster Leo Back. Later in the game, Platten and Edwards combined smoothly on a fake-out play to secure a crucial late out.

The game tightened up late in the sixth inning, but the Outlaws’ composure and ability to adapt under pressure ultimately proved the difference.

Final Score: Plymouth Outlaws D4 14 - 10 KBL Warlocks

A huge thank you goes to everyone at the Kernow Baseball League for organising the weekend’s games. Every player and spectator thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and it was a fantastic showcase for baseball in the South West. We look forward to seeing you all again in the future and wish the KBL the very best for the remainder of the 2026 season.
