Outlaws D4 Vs. Wellington Khaki Sox
19th April 2026
The Outlaws split their first home double header of the season against Wellington Khaki Sox, losing the opener 15–12 before taking game two 12–10 to move to 2–2 after the first two weekends.
It was the first meeting between the sides, and with no Division 5 game on, the Division 4 team had strong backing from across the club. The day also featured a live stream with commentary, adding to the occasion.
Game one was a proper back-and-forth game.
The Outlaws put up four in the first and five more in
the third, with Iman and Danidu Samarakoon both
homering. James Platten had three hits, Leo Back
brought in two runs, and there was steady support
through the lineup from Neil Edwards and Austin Lister. Wellington’s big swing came in the fifth when they put up five runs, capped by a grand slam from George Sinnott, which ended up being the difference.
Game two had a clearer shift.
Wellington went 3–0 up in the first and still led 4–3 after two, but the Outlaws turned it around with five runs in the third and then added four more in the fourth. That stretch gave them enough to work with, even with Wellington pulling three back late.
The bottom of the lineup made a real impact, with Dalton Clarke scoring three times and Jordan Brennan driving in two, while Daniel Herrera’s home run was another key moment. Danidu Samarakoon kept things going across the day with two hits and five stolen bases in game two, and Macaulie Macdonald and Neil Edwards also got runs in.
On the mound, all four Outlaws pitchers made their league debuts, taking the total to six used across the first four games. Austin Lister handled key innings before Matt Ball closed things out to secure the split.
