Outlaws D4 Vs. Exeter Spitfires

Outlaws D5 Vs. Exeter Wyverns

29th March 2026

A strong day on the road for the Outlaws in Exeter, coming away with two wins from two!

The Outlaws D5 team got things started against the Wyverns and made an immediate statement. After a slow start in last weekend’s games, this week the Outlaws came out and put up five runs in the first.

Disciplined at-bats and constant pressure on the bases showing signs of much more confidence in the team. Austin Lister’s two-RBI single was the key hit, but the whole lineup contributed to a really positive start.

To their credit Exeter responded with a strong offensive start as well, but the Outlaws didn’t drift. They stayed with the same approach and got their reward in the fourth. Austin again coming through with two RBIs, with further support across the lineup as four runs went on the board to take control back.

Rupert Morris in his pitching debut (and Outlaws debut) did a great job on the mound through the middle innings, settling things down and keeping the game in a good spot. From there, it was about finishing it off. The Outlaws were held in the final inning, which put the pressure on defensively, but they handled it well. Nathan Joy came in and shut it down over two innings, attacking the zone and letting the defence work behind him to keep Exeter scoreless and close out a 9–7 win.

Austin Lister took MVP for his impact at the plate.

The D4s followed up in their first game of the season against the Division 3 Spitfires and carried that momentum straight in.

A fast start again. Jack Parsons got on base and worked his way round with smart baserunning, taking his chances to get to third before coming home as Daniel Herrera drew a bases-loaded walk to open the scoring.

It stayed tight from there. Exeter pitched well through the middle innings and didn’t give much away, keeping the game close and making the Outlaws work for everything. Macaulie Macdonald matched that on the mound, settling in early and keeping things under control, with Exeter only managing to get one back in the fourth.

The game shifted in the fifth. Danidu Samarakoon came home on a well-executed steal of home, created by Daniel H intentionally getting caught in a rundown and forcing the error. That gave the Outlaws some separation, and Ben Phillips and Neil Edwards followed with clutch RBIs to build a strong lead.

From there, Macaulie Macdonald saw it out. A complete game, 11 strikeouts, and no way back for Exeter once the Outlaws had that lead.

Macaulie Macdonald took MVP for a dominant performance on the mound.
