Club Announcement

2026 & Beyond

Firstly, a heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for being here today, especially those who have joined us for this momentous announcement.

We are thrilled to gather and discuss the bright future of our beloved club.

The overwhelming welcome we received at the AGM last week was truly inspiring, particularly from new contacts and clubs we had yet to meet. The feedback on our incredible venture was overwhelmingly positive, with special accolades for our dynamic social media presence!

We have soared to heights beyond our wildest dreams in such a short time, propelling us to make decisions a year or two ahead of our initial plans.

This rapid growth necessitated an emergency management meeting this week to swiftly approve ideas and move forward with any agreed changes.

In essence, we now boast over 30 players signed up to the club, and our primary concern is ensuring ample game time during the season. We understand that playing actual matches is crucial for player development, and while our roster numbers are impressive, they could potentially limit game time—something we are determined to avoid.

This presents us with a pivotal decision: do we continue as one team, or do we take the bold step to enter two teams into the league next year? There are compelling reasons to pursue this path, along with a few considerations, such as costs, player commitment (especially to away games), and providing adequate support to rookies during matches.

After much deliberation and weighing all options, we, as the management committee, are ecstatic to announce that for 2026, we plan to field two teams in the league. It is likely that we will be playing in different divisions although the league structure is still to be announced.

A key factor in this decision is the unwavering commitment we have witnessed from each and every one of you week after week, coupled with your relentless desire to improve. The astonishing number of players who have joined the club fuels our belief that we can continue to grow stronger and stronger.

This is truly an exhilarating time to be an Outlaw! The spirit within the club is vibrant and unyielding, and we know there will be moments when we must unite to overcome obstacles and challenges. But rest assured, the Plymouth Outlaws Management Committee is committed to standing together and making our club a beacon of excellence in the baseball community of the South West and beyond!
